Welcome to the Burning Barn
Here’s a blog to host my weird content. It’s hard to say a priori what content I’ll post here, but it’s safe to say buckle up.
Burning Barn
The name of this blog is a reference to a popular haiku by Mizuta Masahide. In English it’s usually translated as the following:
Barn's burnt down — now I can see the moon.
It’s a nice, compact little poem that can seemingly mean anything to anyone. I guess to me it describes a relationship with loss: it invites you to slow down and appreciate a calmer sort of beauty as built environments break down. I love the colors and temperatures it suggests, and it’s interestingly destructive.
